“Momma Bear, Get Back in the Cave!”

I am generally a very kind and sweet person. I am usually super smiley and I look for ways to encourage people throughout the day and I try to extend grace and forgiveness to those around me. I wear my heart on my sleeve and on my face.

However, deep down inside, when my girls are hurting or they feel threatened, this HEAT comes over my whole body. This 4′ 11″ little lady starts to grow into a “teeth bared, claws out, fighting stance, Momma Bear”!

Don’t mess with my girls!

My girls have seen “Momma Bear” grow a few times. (Ok, maybe more than a “few”.) My voice gets louder and my words come faster. Heat rises and this courage and strength comes out and I’m ready to take on anyone and anything that comes at us. No fear!

A few times when “Momma Bear” starts to emerge, my girls have said, “Momma Bear, Get Back in the Cave!”

A few times this Momma Bear has had to do battle to protect her cubs. I’ve seen my cubs grow and they’ve taken on a few battles of their own. We are now at a stage in their lives where we ask them if they want us involved in their battles or if they can handle it. Sometimes they still want back up from Momma Bear.

Our girls know that we “do life together”! They are not walking this path alone.

Momma Bear will continue to “protect the cave” until the cubs are ready to leave. (I fear for the male suitor who tries to enter the cave with Papa Bear. 😉)
