While your parents may be the loudest applause tonight, as you walk across the stage, THIS momma is silently remembering your soccer games, baseball games, field trips, class parties, and you being in our home, many nights, celebrating our girls lives.
I still see some of you in Kindergarten, when I would come to help listen to your reading. I remember sitting on the sidelines at all your games cheering you on.
Thank you for being involved in our girl’s life for so many years. Thank you for being an encouragement, a friend, a study buddy, and maybe even that one “sparring partner”. All of you had a role to play in her growth and this Momma thanks you.
Just a bit of advice, from your friend’s mom…
Take on the world from your perspective.
Do you like to read? – “turn another page in your story”.
Do you like photography? – “capture every moment”.
Studying hard? – give it everything you have.
Singing? – don’t let anyone “take your tune”.
Painting? – “color your world” and make a masterpiece.
Author? – write your story, live your story, and “create an epic novel”.
Sports? – “don’t compete with everyone” that you forget to connect with someone.
My wish for you, is to become HOPE. People need that right now. I know it feels like you’re saying goodbye, but you will carry a piece of each other into everything that you do next.
Acknowledge your limitations. Cling to the One who knows your future. Take small steps everyday, and take the big leaps with caution and guidance. Allow trusted people to come along side you and don’t FORGET TO CALL YOUR MOMMA once in awhile!
So…as your name is called tonight, while your parents are your cheering squad, just know this Momma is STILL rooting for you on the sidelines!
Congratulations class of 2021!
