T! How in the world are you 16? How is it possible that tiny, little 6 lb baby is now taller than me and is so fiercely independent?
I have learned so much from you, my girl. You were a serious baby. As a newborn you were “taking it all in”. Your eyes wide, looking for anything and everything that you could learn from.
Your independence came at age 2. You were determined to do everything on your own. It started with dressing yourself, feeding the dog, and even doing things to help me and your little sister. You would say, “I do it.” about everything.
As a toddler, you were still trying to learn everything you could. Asking questions constantly. A lot of “why?” I always answered as much as I could.
I’ve watched you grow into an inquisitive, incredibly talented young lady, who is still “taking it all in”.
Your continual singing, eyes full of wonder, and grace filled attitude has been a huge blessing to this family. Your poise…your heart… your voice… all things that make up my sweet T.
I have learned how strong you are! You have chosen to forgive others who never asked for forgiveness.
You are a people pleaser. I’m sorry…you get that from me. You have a need to make sure everyone is happy and you need to fix it if they are not. (You get the fixing part from dad.)
You choose to seek out the hurting. You have eyes that have this uncanny ability to see right through someone and you won’t “allow” them to hurt for long.
My sweet T, if I could give you anything in this world, it would be eyes to see yourself as I see you, and better yet, how the Lord sees you.
Be grateful for who you are. Be you, unapologetically you! Don’t stop singing! Don’t stop “taking it all in”! Keep learning as much from others as you can. Keep being the light that helps others see!
Recognize the people who are happy when you are happy, and sad when you are sad. Recognize the difference between people who “find time” and those who “make time” for you. They are true friends. Be with those who bring out the best in you, the real you.
Follow the Lord’s direction and He will keep you on track.
I am your biggest fan and I’m always your back up. I thank the Lord for you daily, and I’m honored that I get to be your mom.
